The Trip Home.

Until now I’ve written some heavy stuff, some real heart filled
thoughts that I’m sure are more beneficial to me than anyone else.

Sometimes reading other people’s thoughts can make you question their motifs. But
seeing your own thoughts on paper (screen), disallows you to question
anyone but yourself.

There were some funny and crazy things on this trip. Here are some of
things I have learned:

*Even after an earthquake, Haiti is beautiful.

*The important thing isn’t what happened to you, it’s what you did with it.

*Black people all look the same in the dark… teeth and eyes.

*Community is #1 to these people and they will never leave a man sitting alone.

*An orphanage in Jacmel has the nicest property I have ever seen.

*3.5  people accepted Christ in my week there. (a baby is .5).

*I heard the funniest reason for a cancelled flight (ours).  ”Um sorry
to inform you folks but the flight from Miami to Denver is cancelled.
It seems the cleaning lady accidentally deployed the emergency door
and slide.”  (could you imagine just cleaning away and all of a sudden
that happens)? Wow!
In the process of this happening, Dave(my fellow traveller) said
“I’ve gotta see this!” and went to turn around but he didnt realize his feet
were already on the moving sidewalk.  Pretty soon he was flat on his side - coffee pouring on his shoulder - books and bags everywhere, body slowing moving down the sidewalk, and the unimpressed older man behind him just staring down in pity.

*Nazi’s may still exist. (US security)
*I learned all about frequent flier miles - which I hope to accumulate quickly.

*I learned how encouraging it might be to those who read these entries
and continue to believe in what I’m doing. Apparently there are even people from
other parts of the world who read my thoughts. Thank you.

Good wedding advice: don’t let yourself get burned on the honeymoon.

Dumb and Dumber quotes are funniest when you’re in the rockies.

Sleeping without a blanket is weird. What do you do with your hands?

Black people can just dance better.

You can tell a lot about a man by the way he handles three things: a
cancelled flight, a migraine, and a child asking for a dollar.

Some things you do in an instant - can affect the rest of your life.

But probably the most important thing I’ve learned is that… I have a lot to learn.

Bless you all.
